UAM To Celebrate Parent-Family Appreciation Day This Saturday

           MONTICELLO, AR —  Parents and family members of University of Arkansas at Monticello students will be special guests of the university this Saturday as UAM celebrates Parent-Family Appreciation Day.
            The annual event begins at 2:15 p.m. with a registration and reception in the Fine Arts Center, where students and family will have the opportunity to visit with faculty and staff, pick up free passes to the Chancellor’s Tailgate Cook-out and football game, and receive free t-shirts.
            Entertainment, including music, balloon creations, face painting, body art and a photo booth will be available on Weevil Walk from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The Walk of Champions, featuring the UAM football team and marching band, will be held on the east side of Weevil Pond at 3:30 p.m. Chancellor Karla Hughes will welcome guests to a cook-out for parents and family at 4 p.m. following the Walk of Champions. KHBM radio (FM 93.7 in Monticello) will do a live broadcast from tailgate row during the afternoon.
            The Taylor Library and Technology Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday while the UAM Bookstore will be open from 2 to 6 p.m.
            The day’s events conclude with a football game between UAM and Harding at 6 p.m. at Convoy Leslie-Cotton Boll Stadium.
