Hospital Board Approves Raises

By vote of the Bradley County Medical Center Board during their regular monthly meeting conducted November 29th, all full time and part-time employees will receive a 3% raise.  To be eligible for the raise, each employee must meet certain annual requirements and have completed their 90 day orientation period on or before December 31, 2016.

In other business, Interim CEO and Chief Financial Officer Brandon Gorman provided an executive update and went over all financial records for the month and year.  He reported that the hospital experienced a net gain of $187,612 in October, 2016 and had net income of $1.8 million for the past year.  Currently the hospital has just under $4 million in the sales tax fund.

Mr. Gorman informed the board that the new doctors clinic to be constructed on Central Street should go to bid in early January, 2017.  A new family physician and possibly one of our current doctors will practice from the new office.

The Chief Nursing Officer gave her report and indicated the hospital has several openings for nurses.  She went over training plans and efforts to improve services.

The board was told that Mrs. Rita Guice, who served the hosptial for 44 years recently passed away.  She was praised as a dedicated worker who made everyone's day brighter.

After the meeting, Board Chairman Freddie Mobley reported that three applicants have been interviewed for the administrators job and he hopes a decision can be made soon.
